I used to only ever eat Nutella on toast with some banana slices and maybe a few chopped nuts scattered over the top. But these indulgent treats are something else entirely. The chocolate-nutty flavor is unparalleled, and the creamy-dreamy texture makes it perfect for incorporating into so many amazing things. There’s Nutella frosting, fudge, and cheesecake, and I’ve made Nutella donuts twice this week already! You can make shortbread, ice cream, and even hot chocolate with the stuff, so leave the bread in the bag and try something new today.
1. Nutella Brownies
I was amazed that these brownies don’t need any cocoa or melted chocolate. The Nutella is enough to add that rich chocolate flavor, but the nuts shine through. Since the Nutella is so thick, you’ll get the fudgiest brownies, and the swirl on top is just amazing.
2. 4-Ingredient Quick Nutella Mug Cake
Mug cakes can be so delicious when you have the right recipe! Hint: this is the right recipe! Most recipes will need melted butter and sugar, maybe an egg (though that usually makes the cake rubbery). But this lets the Nutella do all the heavy lifting, providing flavor, moisture, and so much richness.
3. No-Bake Nutella Bars
These no-bake bars are dangerously easy. They need just five ingredients and 15 minutes of prep. The worst part is waiting for them to chill. If you don’t have graham crackers, you can use any cookies you might have on hand. I like shortbread.
4. No-Bake Nutella Fudge
I was so amazed at how easy these fudge bites come together. There’s no need for boiling sugar or for candy thermometers. I found the fudge layer to be pretty irresistible, and I like to scoop it into balls and cover it with chocolate to make little fudgy truffles.
5. Nutella Pastry Twists
My only hesitation with this recipe is that once you’ve made one batch, it’s tough not to immediately defrost more pastry for a second batch! Be sure to get good quality puff pastry (the cheaper stuff stays pale and doesn’t rise) and throw in some chopped nuts for a bit of crunch.
6. Nutella Stuffed Cookie Cups
If you’re a cookie lover like me, then you’ll need to try this! I’ve used the technique with chocolate chip, sugar cookie, and peanut butter cookie dough, and it’s a hit every time. When dividing the Nutella to freeze, I find piping it onto a sheet try much easier and less messy than spooning it out.
7. Nutella-Pretzel Truffles
If you thought the Nutella fudge truffles sounded good, just wait! These have chopped pretzels in the mix for a beautiful salty-sweet finish. Since you’ll make bite-sized truffles, be sure to chop or crush the pretzels, so there are no big pieces in the mix.
8. Nutella Banana Bread
You didn’t think we were done with banana bread, did you? As far as I’m concerned, it will never go out of style! This recipe is especially sinful. It takes the moistest banana bread recipe you’ll ever try and adds some Nutella for good measure. I did find that the Nutella sank to the bottom when I put the layer in the middle. The second time I made it, I put the Nutella layer closer to the top, where it sank perfectly in the middle.
9. Ultimate Nutella Cupcakes
This is not a cupcake for the faint of heart. Between the deep, rich, decadent chocolate cupcake, the Nutella filling, AND the Nutella frosting, it packs quite a punch. This cupcake is so moist, you won’t need the Nutella filling, but it definitely doesn’t hurt!
10. Nutella Frosting
When it comes to making frosting, you’ll want a flavorful, smooth recipe that will pipe and holds its shape to boot. I know it’s a lot to ask. This recipe delivers. The Nutella flavor is perfect, and the consistency is just what you’ll need to pipe onto a cupcake.
11. Nutella Pops
Fudgesicles, but made with Nutella! Why not?! This recipe might be the easiest on the list. All you’ll need are Nutella and chocolate milk. You could use regular milk if you want it less chocolatey. I find warming the milk a little helps to incorporate the two more easily.
12. Nutella Cookies
My favorite thing about Nutella is the silky smooth mix of chocolate and hazelnuts. It’s not too much of either, and it’s just sweet enough. These cookies have that lovely balance, and they’re also chewy and tender.
13. Easy 5-Ingredient Chocolate Nutella Poke Cake
Like most people, I’ve used the poke technique to save a dry cake a few times. But it’s also a fantastic way to infuse a cake with flavor. Since you’ll mix the Nutella with condensed milk, this cake will be super moist and doesn’t even need frosting.
14. Nutella Latte
Full disclosure: I’ve had this every morning for the last week. I think I may be addicted, and when this tub of Nutella runs out, I may need to give my waistline a break. This recipe is ridiculously simple. Just pour hot coffee over Nutella and mix until smooth! If you’re a mocha lover, this one’s for you!
15. Four-Ingredient Nutella Cheesecake Dip
All my friends know that if they put me in charge of “chips and dip,” they’re probably going to get something sweet. Cheesecake dip is already pretty hard to resist, but if you mix through some Nutella, you’re going to have a line of people waiting their turn.
16. Nutella Ice Cream
This recipe is as simple as blending the five ingredients and freezing until firm. Once the mixture is cold, add it to your ice cream maker and let it do its thing. Depending on your tastes, it’s super easy to make this recipe even more special. Try folding through some chopped brownie or cookie chunks, or scatter some chopped nuts over the top.
17. Strawberry Nutella Pizza
I really branched out during lockdown, looking into new and fun recipes to try. One of my favorites has to be the dessert pizza. We love to make pizza in my house, and it just made sense to add a sweet treat at the end of the meal. This recipe is especially great because it uses the same dough we use for the pizzas. But if you’re looking for something even sweeter, you can use a cookie dough base instead.
18. Nutella Stuffed Skillet Cookie
I know that the stuffed cookies from above caught your eye like they did mine, but this recipe is bigger and better. Made and served right out of a skillet, it has a wickedly creamy Nutella filling. The hardest part is getting the top layer of cookie dough over the Nutella without making a mess. You can make this even crazier by throwing some mini-marshmallows in with the Nutella layer. Oh, and I lied… the hardest part will be letting it cool for a few minutes before diving in!
19. Baked Nutella Donuts
Donuts are an adorable dessert that are just as good baked as they are fried. Sure, you won’t get quite the same texture, but the baked kind will be moist, sweet, and just as cute. Not only does this recipe use Nutella in the donut batter, but it’s also covered in a sweet Nutella glaze that will set and crack just like they do at Dunkin.
20. No-Bake Nutella Cheesecake
My issue with no-bake cheesecakes is that they don’t hold their shape as well as the denser, baked cheesecakes. I was so pleased to see this one slice like a dream. I didn’t have Oreos when I tried the recipe, so I used a toasted hazelnut crust, which enhanced the nutty Nutella so well. You can cut back on the nuts by using shortbread, too. Also, the Nutella ganache is insanely good! Seriously, I’m going to use that on everything from now on!
21. Grilled Banana Nutella Sandwich
Confession: I’m eating one of these as I type. Ok, not as I type, but it’s on a plate by the keyboard. I like seeded bread for my sandwiches, but a sliced brioche would be amazing with this. It might be tough, but don’t go bananas (see what I did there?) with the Nutella. It will melt and seep out before the bread toasts. Top tip: slice your bananas lengthwise. It will keep the smaller slices from falling out.
22. Nutella Croissants
So, these aren’t exactly croissants. They’re made using crescent rolls, which have no lamination but will still leave you with a pillowy warm Nutella dessert. I found that these came out much better when I made them into Nutella empanadas. When I rolled the crescent rolls up, it was too much dough for me. No matter how you roll it up, the buttery crescent rolls are a fantastic pairing with the nutty filling.
23. Nutella Pop-Tarts
Your inner teen will love you for this. If I knew back then that these were so easy to make, I would’ve had them on hand constantly! All you’ll need is some pie dough and Nutella. I made half a with the white chocolate coating and half with that Nutella glaze from the baked donuts. Both were incredible!
24. Nutella Crunch Ice Cream Cake
Did you grow up with Carvel on your birthday? I can still remember the excitement of going to pick it out! Never in my young mind did I think it would be so easy to make ice cream cake at home! You just have to remember that the Nutella Rice Krispies are for the ice cream cake and not just to snack on! Be sure to make extra because you won’t be able to resist.
25. Nutella Milkshakes
Three ingredients and a few minutes are all it takes to get a sweet, thick, creamy Nutella milkshake on the table. You’ll need vanilla ice cream and Nutella, naturally, and then slowly pour the milk in until it reaches the right consistency. I like my milkshakes pretty thick, but if you prefer them thinner, just add some extra milk.
26. Nutella Hot Chocolate
Ok, so if Nutella lattes are astounding, then what is Nutella hot chocolate? It’s completely sinful! There’s no other word for it. Just when you thought a mug of warm hot chocolate couldn’t get any better, they went and melted in Nutella! And this isn’t a packet of cocoa, either. It’s the real deal, made on the stovetop and everything. If you’re a fan of French hot chocolate (which is much thicker and more like a ganache), add some chocolate chips to the mix.
27. Baklava Recipe with Nutella
If you’ve ever had baklava before, you know it’s super sweet and sticky and full of lovely chopped pistachios. Maybe you’re wondering how Nutella fits into the mix? The baklava’s sticky sweetness is perfectly balanced out with the creamy addition of the chocolate and hazelnut spread. You might want to warm it up so it spreads easier.
28. Strawberry Nutella French Toast Roll-Ups
If you’re looking for something quick, sweet, cute, and fruity, you’re in the right place. These roll-ups are a snap to make, and they have lots of sliced strawberries to complement the Nutella. Using sliced white bread is such a fantastic shortcut, but I’ve also made these with crepes and American-style pancakes, and there is never a crumb left.
29. Homemade Nutella
I almost didn’t include this recipe because it was a tough one for me. I already eat too much Nutella when I have it in the house, and knowing how to make it at home has meant I’m never without it. But I think you have more self-control than I do and can handle the power! Just be sure you have a decent blender, and keep it going until the mix is totally smooth.
30. Nutella Shortbread Bars
Nutella and crumbly, buttery shortbread? I’ll take a dozen! This recipe is nice and easy, using a simple shortbread that gets pressed into a baking dish. I covered mine with foil for the first bake because I like my shortbread pale. I found it better to pipe the Nutella over the base before crumbling the topping over. It doesn’t matter if you miss a patch. It will melt and spread out as it bakes. Click on a star to rate it!
