Nothing flights of the cold like a hot bowl of pungent curry.  It’s got depth, it’s got soul, and it has loads of culture that you won’t get from any other dish.  From Thai to South African, there are an endless amount of curry recipes to choose from. Each one is just as perfectly seasoned as the last. Want something spicy? Try chicken curry laksa.  Looking for something more comforting? It’s butter chicken for the win! Or, if you’re feeling a little adventurous, go with Jamaican goat curry. No matter what curry recipe you make, one thing’s for sure, it won’t be mundane!

1. Easy Chicken Curry

To kick off your curry culinary tour is this easy chicken curry.  The sauce only requires five ingredients so it’s very beginner-friendly and not all intimidating. For the rest, you’ll need chicken breast, frozen peas, and cilantro for garnishing.  Pour it over a bed of white rice and you’re all set!

2. Indian Beef Curry

Why settle for a basic beef dinner when you can have this enticing curry? The beef melds with the masala sauce as it cooks low and slow. You can either cook it the old-fashioned way on the stove or let the slow cooker do it for you. I prefer the latter so I can set it and walk away. Oh, and don’t forget to temper your spices!  It’s a very important step in Indian cuisine that involves heating spices in cooking fat. It extracts their flavor and makes the dish more aromatic.

3. Japanese Beef Curry

If you’d prefer Asian food tonight, try this beef curry instead.  It’s a comforting combination of chuck roast, potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms in a robust Japanese curry. Thick and savory, this Japanese curry is more stew-like in consistency. So serving it with a bed of white rice is a must!

4. Easy Chicken Tikka Masala

This tikka masala is so scrumptious, you’ll never have to order takeout again.  Plus, it’s so easy that you can be at the table chowing down in 30 minutes!  The sauce is an exquisite blend of heavy cream, tomato sauce and paste, chicken stock, and a ton of spices.  Don’t leave out the garam masala and adjust the cayenne to your taste. Cook the chicken in it and serve it with fluffy white rice like basmati.

5. Pork Vindaloo

You simply can’t be a carnivorous curry lover and not have tried pork vindaloo.  It’s one of the most popular Indian dishes around, but not everyone knows it has Portuguese origins.  It’s savory, spicy, tangy, and has a lot of depth.  The pork is melt-in-your-mouth tender, but it’s the spices that really make this dish.

6. Thai Green Curry

Pardon me for a moment while I help myself to this Thai green curry.  It has everything you could ask for in a Thai curry!  It’s spicy, creamy, fresh, and packed with veggies. It even has an extra squeeze of lime to top it off.  Toss in some chicken or go with another protein. Either way, it will only take about 30 minutes.

7. Shrimp Korma

I could eat shrimp korma every night!  The succulent shrimp are braised in yogurt and dunked in a lavish sauce. It’s rich and creamy, but mild on the heat.  What it doesn’t go easy on is the flavor!  Between all the spices, aromatic pastes, and caramelized onions, this curry has a lot going on.

8. Caribbean Coconut Mussel Curry

Have you ever had a dish so good that you can’t stop talking about it? That’s this curry. It has layers upon layers of flavor. All of these come together for a wildly tasty tropical seafood dinner.  To give you a taste, this dish features fresh mussels in a coconut sauce seasoned with curry powder. Add a glug of beer and finish it all off with fresh herbs. Then, grab your crusty bread and dive in!

9. Delicious Indian Lamb Curry

When was the last time you treated yourself to lamb? Well, I’d say you’re about due. This meaty curry has a ton of depth, making it a very hearty dish.  Browned lamb and onions simmer in a garam masala tomato-based sauce until everything is perfectly tender.  Grab some warm naan because you’ll want to soak up every last savory drop of this deliciousness.

10. Jamaican Curry Chicken

Chicken is anything but boring when you toss it into a Jamaican-inspired curry. The thick sauce is slightly sweet with a bunch of warming spices. Allspice is a primary one and so are turmeric, curry powder, and cayenne.  While scotch bonnet peppers are traditional, you can tone down the heat with jalapenos instead.  Although the ingredient list may look intimidating at first, it’s nothing you can’t get from a typical grocery store.

11. Sweet Corn Curry

Meat does not have to be the focus of every curry. Take this sweet corn curry for instance. It’s completely plant-based so there is no meat or dairy. The flavors are well-balanced and it’s ready in 30 minutes.  You’ll love how the coconut captures the spice blend and the sweet bites of corn mixed in between.

12. 15-Minute Vegetable Curry

Short on time? That’s what this 15-minute curry is for! It satisfies your cravings and you don’t have to wait all night for it. Use a bag of mixed frozen veggies and all it takes is six easy ingredients.  It’s a great recipe for those new to making curry and seasoned home chefs alike.

13. Palak Paneer

Another popular Indian curry is palak paneer. Big chunks of fresh paneer cheese are bobbing in a rich spinach gravy.  It’s fresh and aromatic. And like all Indian recipes you get a great blend of spices. The secret to making the gravy creamy is a handful of cashews. Trust me, it works!

14. Trinidadian Curry Chicken

Slow down and get on island time with this Trinidadian curry.  You’ll start by marinating the chicken in a handful of spices for a few hours.  Next, saute onions and garlic with jalapeno, toss in the spices, add in the chicken, and don’t forget the potatoes.  If you like things hot, toss a habanero in the mix while you’re at it.

15. Chicken Curry Laksa Soup

Toss on your comfy clothes because you’ll want to curl up with a bowl of this curry. The flavorful broth, juicy chicken, cubed tofu, and tender rice noodles will soothe your soul. I implore you not to leave out a single ingredient in the laksa paste. It’s just too good to mess with.

16. Cauliflower Curry

This cauliflower curry concoction is a healthy meal you can fix in 30 minutes.  Gluten-free, dairy-free, and meat-free, it’s a vegan dish full of Indian spices.  Add everything to one pot and let the cauliflower cook until tender. You’re about to find out just how great a neutral ingredient like cauliflower can be.

17. Easy Chana Masala

An easy chana masala? Don’t mind if I do! All you need is 30 minutes and one pot. Well, that and a slew of ingredients like chickpeas, canned tomatoes, and chana masala. Like all good Indian curries, the ingredient list is rather long. However, it’s actually pretty easy.

18. Easy Sweet Potato Curry

I never knew how good sweet potatoes were in a curry until I tried this dish. The sweetness of the potatoes coupled with garam masala and curry powder make for an explosion of flavor.  It’s rich, complex, and vegan-friendly.

19. Creamy Coconut Lentil Curry

Humble lentils and indulgent coconut milk come together for this delectable bowl.  What I love just as much as the flavor is how it uses a ton of pantry staples. Not only is it economical, but you can throw it together without a trip to the store! Give it a try and you’ll be blown away by just how scrumptious lentils can be.

20. South African Chicken Curry

I’ve talked a lot about Indian curries, Japanese curries, and Thai curries. So let’s mix things up with this South African curry. The flavor profile is different from anything else on this list.  Apricot jam and brown sugar make it sweet, mustard and vinegar give it a tangy bite, and chicken makes it all savory. Like all other curries, the one thing that’s the same is you want to serve it with rice.

21. Filipino Style Chicken Curry

Mix up your chicken dinner routine and try some authentic Filipino food like this curry.  Potatoes, carrots, and bell peppers make up the bulk of the veggies. While chicken drumettes make up most of the plate. The coconut sauce is full of pungent curry. But what sets it apart is the addition of fish sauce.

22. Aubergine Curry

Looking for an Indian-style eggplant dish? Look no further than this curry.  Garam masala is the primary spice, which tastes incredible when you meld it with coconut milk. Smother the eggplant with it and have at it! It’s a very easy meat-free dish you can make any night of the week.

23. Thai Red Curry with Chicken

I’m a big fan of Thai red curries. So you can imagine how excited I get about this dish! Tender chicken, green beans, and butternut squash come together in a creamy and pungent red coconut curry sauce.  Thai basil and kaffir lime leaves liven it up while it’s the red chili pepper that makes it fiery.

24. Massaman Curry

Massaman curry is a Thai favorite with Persian and Indian influences. So you know you’re in for greatness with this dish! It’s got big chunks of juicy chicken, potatoes, and carrots in a flavorful sauce.  I’m sure it’s no surprise, but it’s the massaman curry paste that truly makes it. Aromatic, tangy, sweet, and a little spicy, this paste is precisely what your curry needs.

25. Cashew Curry

Looking to eat more plant-based meals? Skip the meat and load up your curry with cashews instead. This Sri Lankan-style curry is a testament to what you can do with all plant-based ingredients. It’s surprisingly rich and super creamy without any meat or dairy.  Toss on a pot and give it a try. It’s the perfect dish for your next easy Meatless Monday night.

26. Thai Peanut Curry

Who knew you could make a delectable curry out of plant-based ingredients? Peanut butter makes it decadent and so does the coconut milk base.  Pile in the veggies and by all means, don’t forget the Thai red curry paste! It just wouldn’t be the same without it.

27. Easy Leftover Turkey Curry

Tired of turning leftover turkey into nothing but sandwiches? Then it’s time to get creative with a pot of curry. Starting with the base, you’ll need coconut milk, passata, and spices. Next, you’ll want onions and peppers.  Add the meat and simmer until everything is hot.  Since the meat is already cooked, you can throw everything together in 25 minutes tops.

28. Jamaican Goat Curry

In other countries, goat is a very popular meat. If you’ve never had it before, you definitely need to try this Jamaican curry.  Jamaican curry is not your typical bowl. It’s heavy on the allspice which makes it so unique.  Comforting, savory, and spicy, this curry hits the spot!  I guarantee you’ll love the mix of tender potatoes, onions, and stewed meat.

29. Butter Chicken

Butter chicken is a popular Indian curry that melts in your mouth. Yes, it’s buttery. But it’s also rich, tomatoey, creamy, and full of spice.  The secret is to marinate the chicken in lemon, garlic, ginger, yogurt, and a ton of warming spices. One of the most important of which is garam masala.  Serve it up with a side of fluffy white rice and warm naan if you have it.

30. Lemongrass Curry Chicken

Last but not least is lemongrass curry chicken. It’s a great choice when you want to keep things fresh and healthy.  Lemongrass has a very citrusy taste, which easily becomes the star of this curry.  Although it comes with chicken and broth to match, you can swap it out for tofu and veggie broth to make it vegan. Regardless, it’s one incredible curry! Click on a star to rate it!
