Christmas coffee drinks aren’t necessarily the most traditional part of the holidays. However, in my house, they’re pretty much a necessity. After all, who among us can get through the holiday season without coffee? And, of course, boozy coffee is even more of a treat. There are so many variations to choose from, too. In the mood for spiced gingerbread? How about pumpkin spice, peppermint, or butterscotch? This list has all that and more. (Several of them are alcohol-free, too!) So, if you’re looking for something sweet, caffeinated, and delicious, look no further. These Christmas coffee drinks are just the thing.
1. Boozy Christmas Coffee
Are you a fan of Starbucks Peppermint Mocha? If so, you’ll love this mixed drink because that’s what it tastes like. Just like Starbucks. It’s minty, chocolatey, and robust. Plus, there’s plenty of booze and caffeine in every sip. Don’t worry, though; it’ll make you tipsy but won’t get you drunk. (Unless you drink way too many, of course.) It’s an excellent drink for sipping in front of a fire.
2. Cozy Homemade Peppermint Mocha
Are you craving that peppermint mocha but don’t want the alcohol? That’s okay, too. Make an alcohol-free version instead. It tastes just like the pepperminty treat from Starbucks. However, making it at home saves you time, money, and gas. Who doesn’t want to save on all those things right now?
3. Peppermint Mocha Cold Brew
And here’s the recipe you’ll need if you want your peppermint mocha on ice! It features the same great chocolate and peppermint flavor. The only difference is that this one is icy cold and totally refreshing. Don’t forget to add the optional chocolate drizzle down the sides. It doesn’t just make it look good. The taste is phenomenal, too.
4. Gingerbread Latte
The gingerbread latte is a sweetly spiced, alcohol-free Christmas coffee drink. It combines the rich warmth of espresso and molasses with cinnamon and ginger. It’s sweet, creamy, and delightfully frothy. Best of all, the kids can enjoy it, too.
5. Vanilla Gingerbread Latte
Gingerbread lattes are fantastic. However, sometimes, people want something a little sweeter. I know what you’re thinking. Gingerbread lattes are already sweet enough. But believe me, anything can be sweeter. For this one, you’ll add maple syrup and salted caramel to the recipe. There’s a dash of vanilla extract, as well. It’s one drink you won’t be able to get enough of, and neither will anyone else.
6. Irish Coffee
Making a classic Irish coffee is unbelievably simple. You’ll need coffee, maple syrup, and Irish whiskey. Add whipped cream if you like, or leave it off. Either way, you can have this hot, tasty drink ready in just 5 minutes. It’s a quick and scrumptious way to warm your belly.
7. Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte
Love pumpkin spice lattes but hate paying Starbucks prices? No problem! Whip up your spicy pumpkin treat at home. You’ll need just six ingredients, plus whipped cream for serving. It only takes about 10 minutes, too. So why waste your hard-earned cash on overpriced drinks? Sure, they’re delicious, but they’re just as tasty when you make them at home.
8. Cardamom Latte
Start your morning right with this five-ingredient cardamom latte. It’s the richest, most herbal-infused cup ‘a joe you’ll ever try. It’s everything you love about your first cup of coffee and more. If you’re a true coffee addict looking for something new, this recipe is ideal.
9. Iced Bourbon Salted Caramel Latte
I adore mixing sweet and salty flavors. This iced bourbon salted caramel latte does that flawlessly. It’s sweet and boozy, with a sharp spike of salt in every sip. It takes 5 minutes and five ingredients to make. However, it has a bold, complex taste that defies its small number of ingredients.
10. Salted Caramel Latte (No Alcohol)
This kid-friendly version of the salted caramel latte substitutes chocolate for bourbon. Even though I like a stiff drink, it’s not a bad replacement. Leaving out the alcohol enhances all the other great flavors. It’s richer, sweeter, and saltier. Just one of these drinks will leave you tasting caramel all day.
11. Spiced Apple Cider Latte
This wonderfully spiced drink is perfect for winter or fall. That makes it a great addition to any holiday party – Halloween or Christmas. It’s full of cool-weather flavors like apples, nutmeg, and pumpkin spice. Surprisingly, the coffee in it doesn’t taste awkward either. Instead, it adds a warm, earthy base for the lighter taste of apples. The spices layer on top of it nicely, as well.
12. Butterscotch Coffee
Butterscotch coffee is thick, buttery, and just shy of being too sweet. Be sure you stick closely to the recipe on this one. Too much of any ingredient will send it toppling over into sugar coma territory. If you keep it as is, though, it’s divine. *Note: This recipe is for the butterscotch sauce only. However, add it to your coffee once it’s ready for a sweeter flavor. It also tastes terrific on ice cream or pancakes.
13. Homemade Eggnog Latte (Hot or Iced)
What’s more Christmasy than eggnog? In terms of drinks, not much. Use that to your advantage this holiday season by whipping up eggnog lattes. Boozy eggnog may be practically mandatory for after dinner. However, it’s the eggnog latte you’ll want with your breakfast. It’s thick, luscious, and decadent. But hey, ’tis the season!
14. White Chocolate Peppermint Latte
Isn’t this drink one of the most gorgeous you’ve ever seen? If not, then we’re looking at different things. Everything about the peppermint latte is lovely. The perfection of the frothy top. The excess of pillowy whipped cream. The brightly colored peppermint chips. It all combines to make one singularly beautiful drink. Fortunately, it tastes just as amazing as it looks. And despite its elaborate appearance, it takes less than 10 minutes to make. Don’t be afraid to add some peppermint schnapps for a more adult-themed drink.
15. Christmas Coffee Blend
Christmas coffee is the only thing you’ll want to wake up to on Christmas morning. Smelling the fragrant aroma of coffee, cinnamon, and cloves drifting through your house… what could be a better wake-up call? I don’t know if Santa Claus drinks coffee. If he does, I’d bet money this is the blend he uses.
16. S’mores Latte
Wake up to something sweet, scrumptious, and smoky with this s’mores latte. You don’t have to sit around a campfire to enjoy it, either. You can whip it up in 6 minutes using the convenience of your microwave. It comes with mini marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate sauce. If you could liquefy s’mores, this latte would be the result. Even better, these s’mores come with a caffeinated coffee kick.
17. Apple Chai Latte
In the market for something a bit healthier? The apple chai latte could be just the thing. It’s a caffeinated, comforting tea-based latte that’s as delicious as it is nutritious. This one has no coffee, but it’s still a morning pick-me-up. It also has a similar warm, robust flavor to coffee. You’ll love the addition of spiced apple cider, too.
18. Cinnamon Bun Latte
Now let’s take it back to something genuinely indulgent. Creamy, cinnamony, and sweet, this latte doesn’t taste just like a cinnamon bun. However, it’s probably the closest you can get in liquid form. The dash of vanilla tones down the dark coffee flavor. It leaves this one tasting like something you’d buy from a dessert cart.
19. Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Latte
In case you needed another Starbucks copycat recipe, here you go! The cinnamon dolce latte is 100% barista-approved. (Seriously! My friend is a barista and swears she can’t tell the difference.) It’s a soothing, gently spiced sweet treat the whole family will enjoy. Leave out the espresso if you have young children, though. Go heavy on the milk instead. Or turn it into hot chocolate.
20. Christmas Morning Cashew Coffee
I never thought about adding cashews to my coffee before this recipe. Even so, I’m happy that I tried it. The taste is … kind of hard to describe, actually. However, it’s unbelievably good. It tastes like coffee, for sure. There’s also a warm vanilla sweetness with just a hint of nuttiness. As much as I love salty and sweet combos, I don’t add salt to this one. It doesn’t need it; it’s perfect just the way it is.
21. Snickerdoodle Latte
You’ll love this drink if you have a thing for cinnamon and brown sugar. It uses just four ingredients and is impossibly easy to make. You can have it ready from scratch in just 2 minutes. Skip the snickerdoodles this year, and leave one of these out for Santa instead. It has all the sugary sweetness of cookies and a nice energy boost. Anyone will appreciate it. Whether they’re delivering presents all over the world or assembling them at night.
22. Keto Cinnamon Toast Butter Coffee
Want all the sweetness of Christmas drinks with a fraction of the carbs? Keto coffee to the rescue! It’s decadent, buttery, and full of cinnamon-sugar yumminess. It tastes like a mix of butterscotch and snickerdoodle coffees. Trust me when I tell you that it’s not a bad combination. And with less than two net carbs per serving, how can you refuse?
23. Peppermint Marshmallow Latte
This drink has all the flavor of a peppermint latte. However, it also features the thick, frothy fluffiness of marshmallows. It’s a delightfully smooth and creamy drink with plenty of minty sweetness. If you want, you can even add some peppermint schnapps or rum. Doing so will doubly ensure it warms your belly.
