Yes, they may be more decadent and even less healthy for you than standard desserts, but there’s just something about biting into a delicious, deep-fried sweet treat that sends your tastebuds over the moon. It doesn’t matter where you’re from. Just about every region has a version of deep-fried desserts. In the south, you can find funnel cakes and fried Twinkies at every county fair. In areas where Mexican food is prevalent, you’ll have fried ice cream and churros. Even Asian chefs have a version of deep-fried sweets with deep-fried bananas. So if you came here looking for some delectable, deep-fried desserts, you came to the right place.
1. Deep-Fried S’Mores
There’s nothing quite like biting into a crispy, golden-brown crust and hitting fluffy, melted marshmallows, gooey chocolate, and all kinds of other goodness. That’s what you’ll get with these deep-fried s’mores. Each one is tastier than the last.
2. Deep-Fried Nutella S’Mores Dumplings
These s’mores dumplings taste like the deep-fried s’mores I just mentioned, but I love their unique dumpling shape! Also, you’ll add Nutella to these, so there’s an added layer of complexity to the flavor, as well.
3. Deep-Fried Cheesecake Bites
Cheesecake is pretty decadent already, but roll it in batter, deep-fry it, and coat it in powdered sugar and your favorite sweet sauce, and you’ll have a sugar coma-worthy treat. The deep-fried cream cheese/vanilla centers in these are just too good!
4. Deep-Fried Cheesecake
If that first recipe for deep-fried cheesecake bites doesn’t do it for you, try this one for deep-fried cheesecake chimichangas instead. The taste is pretty similar, but I love how these look. They’re gorgeous, and thanks to the rolled shape, they’re also really convenient and non-messy to eat.
5. Fried Twinkies
Fried Twinkies. Just let that sink in. All the fluffy, sweet deliciousness of Twinkies… only deep-fried for a crispy outer shell. Yeah. I know. Enough said.
6. Deep-Fried Oreos
While you’re imagining unbelievably delicious desserts, go ahead and picture deep-fried Oreos, as well. The chocolate and creamy sweetness of Oreos, surrounded by a golden-brown, deep-fried crust… It doesn’t get much yummier than that.
7. Fried Brownie Truffle Bites
These fried brownie bites are the intersection of brownies and truffles, and they’re incredible. Each bite is filled with chocolate, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and more. Each one is just large enough to give you about two delectable bites, and then you’ll come back for more.
8. Deep-Fried Coca-Cola Balls
In consistency, these will remind you a little of beignets or syrup-covered donut holes. On the other hand, the taste is totally unique, thanks to the flavoring of Vanilla Coke. You can make eight of them in 15 minutes, making them perfect for dessert or an overly sweet breakfast option.
9. Deep-Fried Bananas
Bananas are phenomenal no matter how you cook them. However, slicing them, dipping them in pancake batter, deep-frying them, and covering them with cinnamon and sugar is probably my favorite way to enjoy them. Yes, they’re just as good as they sound, and although the recipe says to serve them with vanilla ice cream, that’s unnecessary. These are 100% sweet enough on their own.
10. Deep-Fried Apple Fritters
These may look like deep-fried zombie brain bites from iZombie, but once you take the first bite of that apple cinnamon yumminess, you won’t care how odd and lumpy they look. The powdered sugar and vanilla glaze is just extra “icing on the cake.”
11. Deep-Fried Peach Cobbler
Of all the deep-fried deliciousness on this list, the deep-fried peach cobbler is probably my favorite. It takes only 25 minutes to make, and the ingredients list has less than ten items. The canned peaches are tart and tangy, and the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice add the exact right amount of seasoning. The crust is flaky and buttery, and once you top the whole thing with vanilla ice cream, it’s pretty much unbeatable.
12. Deep-Fried Chocolate Cupcakes
If you thought chocolate cupcakes were the ultimate in hedonistic culinary pleasure, wait until you try them deep-fried. Yes, you read that correctly: Deep-fried chocolate cupcakes. They have the same consistency and texture as jelly-filled donuts, but with the scrumptious flavor of chocolate cupcakes. It doesn’t get much tastier or sweeter than that.
13. Fried Donut Holes
There’s nothing super unique or spectacular about fried donut holes, but I couldn’t have a list of deep-fried desserts without them. These are the classic donut holes you know and love. That’s good enough!
14. Churro Bites
Churros are the ultimate in deep-fried snacks, but these churro bites are so small, dainty, and cute, so I decided to use them instead of full-size churros. Plus, you can make them with only six ingredients in about 15 minutes, and that’s hard to beat.
15. Deep-Fried Sweet Ravioli
You already know how good regular deep-fried ravioli tastes, but ravioli isn’t just for dinner anymore. Now, you can also serve it for dessert. And don’t worry, the filling of ricotta cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract is certainly sweet enough to enjoy. You won’t find any cheese and tomato paste in this ravioli.
16. Deep-Fried Cookie Dough
Cookie dough is incredible no matter how you eat it, and that includes raw from the tub. However, deep-fried cookie dough is a whole other level of YUM. With their crunchy, powder sugar-covered outsides and their warm, gooey chocolate insides, these bite-sized treats are nothing short of addictive.
17. Deep-Fried Chocolate Truffles
Oh my gosh… Chocolate truffles are so good! Now, imagine deep-fried chocolate truffles with bananas at their centers. There aren’t too many flavor combinations that can beat dark chocolate and bananas anyway, but these crunchy balls are beyond delicious. They’re some of the best things you’ll ever taste.
18. Fried Ice Cream
Chances are, you’ve enjoyed fried ice cream at your favorite Mexican restaurant at some point, but if you’ve never had it, you’re in for a real treat. The center of the dessert is a large ball of cold, sweet, delicious vanilla ice cream. It’s surrounded with a crispy, crunchy cornflake crust and topped with crushed graham crackers, cinnamon, and brown sugar. (I add chocolate sauce to mine, as well.) And don’t worry; it’s spectacularly easy to make, and you won’t melt your ice cream like you think you will. (I’m speaking from personal experience!)
19. Deep-Fried Cookie Dough Wrapped Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
The name of this dessert has a lot going on, so just think of it in terms of a crispy cookie dough dessert with ice cream and chocolate sauce. It makes it so much easier to picture and will have you drooling in no time.
20. Deep-Fried Chocolate Bar
Is there any way to improve on a chocolate bar?! I mean, they are chocolate bars, after all! As it turns out, there is a way to improve them, by covering them in a breadcrumb, flour, etc. mixture and deep-frying them for about 5 minutes. You’re left with the same fantastic ooey-gooey chocolate bar in the center, but you also gain a golden, crunchy, deep-fried crust. It’s the best of both worlds and will somewhat remind you of a chocolate pie.
21. Fried Rosette Snowflake Cookies
These gorgeous cookies are as pretty as they are tasty. They take about 40 minutes to make, but the ingredients list is short and basic. All you’ll need is granulated and confectioners sugar, eggs, flour, milk, almond extract, salt, and oil for frying. They’re a little like beautifully designed funnel cakes in cookie form, and who wouldn’t love that?! Click on a star to rate it!
