From mango and banana to something spiced, they’re beyond delicious! Milk is a terrific source of potassium, B12, calcium, and vitamin D. But it’s a little dull on its own. So, why not try one or two of these yummy milk drinks to get your nutrient fix? You’ll find a couple of milkshakes on this list, plus a few tea and coffee drinks, of course. However, for the most part, these are flavored milk drinks. I’m talking apple, strawberry, taro, and blueberry! Enjoy!
Easy and Delicious Milk Drinks We Can’t Get Enough Of
1. Korean Banana Milk
We Americans love chocolate and strawberry-flavored milk. But in Korea, the big milk flavor is banana. It’s lightly sweet and fruity, and Korean children go crazy for it. I do, too! Unfortunately, finding pre-made banana milk in the western world isn’t always easy. Nesquik sells banana milk powder, but many stores don’t carry it. Thankfully, this recipe will allow you to make your own from scratch. You’ll need milk, bananas, water, maple syrup, and just a drop of vanilla extract. Yay for natural ingredients! Toss all that in a blender, and you’ll enjoy banana milk in about a minute.
2. Warm Vanilla Milk
Vanilla milk is a warmer, sweeter version of whole milk. It’s full-bodied and rich, with just a hint of nutmeg for spice. If any bedtime drink can ensure sweet dreams, warm vanilla milk is it.
3. Warm Cinnamon Milk
Do you prefer the spiciness of cinnamon to the sweetness of vanilla? If so, warm cinnamon milk might be your best bedtime drink option. It still has the same comforting, heartwarming properties as any warm milk. However, adding cinnamon gives it so much more oomph. Plus, it smells fantastic.
4. Caramel Milk
Believe it or not, you can make caramel milk with as few as two ingredients. And no, they aren’t milk and caramel! They’re milk and granulated sugar. Simply caramelize the sugar in a saucepan. Then, add it to some milk for a dreamy beverage you’ll crave day after day. Depending on your mood, it works well as a hot or cold drink. And you can even top it with frothy milk and chocolate sprinkles for extra decadence. Note: you’ll more or less be making caramel here. So it’s best to warm the milk before adding the sugar to prevent excessive bubbling.
5. Spiced Warm Milk and Honey Drink
This soul-soothing drink is warm, sweet, and gently spiced. And between the cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom, it smells just as good as it tastes. Top it with whipped cream and more spices for a touch of elegance.
6. Thai Pink Milk
Want something lighter and more refreshing? Thai pink milk fits the bill. Add some crushed ice and evaporated milk on top, and it has a bright, sweet-n-fruity flavor that’s impossible not to love.
7. Mango Milk
Nope. That’s not orange juice you’re seeing. That’s milk. Mango milk, to be specific. And it is the stuff of dreams! It’s creamy, fruity, and has a gorgeous golden color. As a mango-lover, it’s one of my all-time favorite milk drinks around. So, if you’re looking for a sweet summer treat, mango milk is it. There’s nothing yummier than this rich, cardamom- and saffron-infused milk drink.
8. Golden Milk
Here’s another lovely golden milk option, though this one isn’t nearly as fruity. It’s also a warm drink, so it’s more suited to winter than summer. Because you’ll use almond milk to make it, it’s 100% dairy-free. It also features a ton of flavorful spices and a gentle sweetness, mainly from the vanilla extract and honey. Go easy on the ginger; otherwise, it’ll quickly overpower the whole thing. Additionally, be sure to taste it before adding the black pepper. You’ll kill the sweetness if you add too many “savory” spices.
9. Apple Milkshake
Most milkshakes feature a few basic flavors: chocolate, vanilla, caramel, or peanut butter. There are some fruity flavors, of course, like strawberry and banana. However, for the most part, tarter fruits don’t make it into milkshakes. Let’s change that, shall we? This apple milkshake is an excellent exception to that rule. It’s thick, creamy, and full of apple cinnamon flavor. I could drink these all fall long. In fact, I plan to!
10. Bubble Tea
Bubble tea (boba) has become more and more popular recently. Still, some people haven’t tried it yet, and others don’t even know what it is. If you fall into the latter category, I’m here to help! Boba tea is a Tawainese drink of tea and “bubbles” made from chewy tapioca pearls. The taste varies depending on the type of tea and additives. However, it’s the texture that most people are after anyway. And texturally speaking, there’s nothing quite like bubble tea. Use this recipe, and try it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
11. Taro Milk Tea
Taro milk tea is a variation of boba tea. It combines tea, taro powder, milk, and tapioca pearls. It’s a bit thicker than regular boba tea. It’s also creamier. Still, if you try boba tea and like it, you’ll likely appreciate this one, too.
12. Pumpkin Spice Milk
Pumpkin spice milk is like pureed pumpkin pie in a glass. It’s a sweet, spiced, pumpkiny masterpiece. You can enjoy it cold or hot, and since it has no caffeine, you won’t have to worry about it keeping you awake. It’s also remarkably good for you – much healthier than pumpkin pie at any rate. Give it a try if you want a sweet drink the whole family will love.
13. Milkshake
Did you know you can make a milkshake with as few as two ingredients? It’s true! All you’ll need is milk (preferably whole milk) and ice cream. Blend those together, and you’re good to go. And this recipe world for all kinds of flavors, too. So, if you want a chocolate milkshake, use chocolate ice cream. For strawberry milkshakes, use strawberry ice cream. For mint chocolate chip… well, you get the idea! This is, by far, the easiest way to make milkshakes. Plus, you can always add extra goodies (whipped cream, broken candy pieces, etc.) if you like.
14. Chocolate Milk
Everyone knows how to make chocolate milk, right? Buy it premade or add a scoop (or squirt) of Nesquik to the glass. Easy peasy. But not if you want the best chocolate milk. For that, you need to make it with some extra stuff. Cocoa powder, milk, water, and sugar, to be exact. Those four ingredients create the sweetest, most chocolatey chocolate milk possible. Drinking it will make you feel like a kid again.
15. Mocha Latte
Who needs Starbucks when you can make a delicious mocha latte at home? All you’ll need is espresso, milk, and hot cocoa mix. It’s a chocolatey, caffeine-filled drink that you can whip up in just five short minutes. When something is this quick and easy, there’s no excuse not to start your day right. It’ll save you a few bucks to boot!
16. Iced English Tea Latte
Iced tea is always a refreshing option for summer. But creamy iced tea sweetened with milk and sugar? That’s even better! Full disclosure: most Brits would clutch their pearls at the mention of iced tea. It’s just not the way it’s done! But when it’s this tasty, I think it’s okay to branch out and try new things. And this tea latte is the pick-me-up you need to make it through your day.
17. Chai Tea Latte
Chai lattes are just as tasty as the tea above, though they have a little more spice. The hot version is super yummy, and it’s wonderfully warming and comforting. But when it’s hot outside, it’s nice to enjoy some spices with your cold milk drink. So why not add some ice and enjoy this drink chilled? I like this as a mid-morning treat (hot or cold) with a slice of banana bread. Try it for yourself and see what you think.
18. Homemade Mocha Frappuccino
Nothing looks even remotely healthy about this mocha frappuccino, I know. Fortunately, looks can be deceiving. This homemade version contains fewer calories, less sugar, and less fat than the Starbucks version. It’s also vegan, dairy-free, and made with all-natural ingredients. But when you taste it, you’d never know it’s healthy. It’s just as rich and decadent as a mocha frap should be.
19. Green Mint Vanilla Milk
This brilliant green drink is perfect for St. Paddy’s Day or any green-themed event. It’s also caffeine- and alcohol-free, so even the kiddos can get in on the fun. This simple drink uses just four ingredients: mint and vanilla extracts with milk, along with green food coloring for a bold appearance. That simple blend makes a sweet, minty treat that even the Grinch would appreciate. And you can always skip the food coloring if you prefer. It tastes delish either way.
20. Blueberry Milk
Blueberry milk sounds strange, but after one sip, it may become your new favorite milk drink. It has a lovely purple color and a sweet-n-tangy, bright, fruity taste. Quick and easy to make, all you need is milk, raw honey, blueberries, and water. It’s healthy and unbelievably tasty. Don’t be surprised if you like it as much as your kids.
