Even without the booze, they deserve a place on your table. And hey, I won’t stop you from adding a glug or two of vodka! Some of these lemonade recipes are sweet, while others are tart. So no matter what you prefer, you’ll find a recipe here to love. Of course, I had to include a couple of cocktails. Who doesn’t love hard lemonade, amirite? And, as mentioned, feel free to spike the others with whatever alcohol you prefer. Vodka is always a safe choice, but I think the rosemary lemonade would be incredible with gin!
1. Homemade Lemonade
Let’s start with good, old-fashioned homemade lemonade. This simple drink requires just three ingredients. Water. Sugar. Lemon juice. That’s all you’ll need to give you a jumping-off point. Then, add more sugar or lemon juice to get it just right. If you like tart lemonade, add more juice. Add more sugar if you have a bit of a sweet tooth. Either way, this lemonade recipe is a summertime staple. Everyone will love it.
2. Strawberry Lemonade
This yummy lemonade requires the same ingredients as those above. The only difference is that you’ll also add a half-pound of strawberries. It’s a sweeter, fruitier lemonade for those who can’t get enough strawberries in the summer.
3. Blueberry Lemonade
Are blueberries your favorite summer berry? If so, then you absolutely must try this blueberry lemonade. It’s sweet, tart, and tangy all at once. Plus, it’s a gorgeous drink that tastes as good as it looks. You’ll combine rich, beautiful flavors into what can only be described as “summer in a glass.” Your family will appreciate every last sip of this one.
4. Frozen Blueberry Lemonade
Here’s another excellent option for blueberry lemonade. This one, however, is much slushier and icier, making it a fantastic frozen treat to beat the heat. Plus, it takes less than 30 minutes to pull together! Talk about a win-win.
5. Watermelon Lemonade
This pretty pink drink combines homemade lemonade with watermelon juice. It perfectly balances sweet and tart, and it looks great to boot. It has a refreshing, crisp taste that pairs well with most things. Whip it up at your next backyard barbecue or potluck. Either way, all your guests will appreciate it.
6. Pink Lemonade
Have you met anyone who doesn’t enjoy pink lemonade? I know I haven’t. That said, most people I know don’t know precisely what it is. They know it’s pink. And they know it’s lemonade. But what’s that extra flavor in the mix? The truth is it’s usually just lemonade with red or pink dye. Luckily, this homemade version mixes watermelon with lemonade for its lovely color and flavor. It makes it taste far better than the store-bought, powdered stuff. It’s also just as easy to make as any other lemonade recipe on this list.
7. Kentucky Lemonade Cocktail
Want to take your lemonade up a notch? Why not add some ginger ale and give it a bourbon kick? Muddle in some mint leaves for an even more refreshing cocktail, and it’s ideal for the next time you’re at the Kentucky Derby. Or, you know, the next time you’re sitting by the pool in the sun. Either way, it’s a wonderful option.
8. Sparkling Lemonade
Sparkling lemonade has all the sweet tartness of regular lemonade. But it’s much more elegant and lovely. It’s bubbly, crisp, and all-natural, thanks to the honey. Add as much lemon juice as you need, and enjoy! It’s easy enough for casual events but enchanting enough for more formal occasions. It’s a massive hit at brunches, too!
9. Rosemary Lemonade
If you enjoy light and herby drinks, this rosemary lemonade is for you. And it’s as easy as mixing regular lemonade with rosemary simple syrup. It takes only about 10 minutes to make. However, you’ll need to let it cool down before serving it. So be sure you don’t wait until the last minute to make it.
10. Raspberry Lemonade
This sweet, fruity lemonade combines lemons and raspberries. And the results are incredible. It’s a zingy, zesty drink that’s perfect for summer. It’s also an amazing drink to turn into a cocktail. Try mixing it with some Absolut Raspberry for a refreshing drink with a kick.
11. Peach Lemonade
Want a drink that’ll transport you to a Georgia front porch? Peach lemonade it is. It’s a sugary sweet, peachy keen summer treat that is not as crisp and tart as other options on the list. So, if you’ve got a real sweet tooth, you’ll adore it. I know I do. Top tip: add a glug of bourbon to make it all grown up.
12. Color Changing Lemonade Slushie (Galaxy Lemonade)
This gorgeous slushie looks like a beautiful galaxy in a glass. The blues, whites, and purples don’t look anything like lemonade. That said, the bright, tart taste is 100% lemonade. And the best part? It features four jiggers of gin, vodka, or tequila – whichever you like best. The lovely look of the cocktail will make you feel like a kid again. Meanwhile, that nice buzzy feeling you get after drinking it is a bit more adult.
13. Lemonade Iced Tea
Both lemonade and sweet tea are two Southern staples. So, why choose between them when you can enjoy them together? Arnold Palmer was onto something with this one! It takes three ingredients and 5 minutes to make this drink, but I have a feeling you’ll down it in 3! It’s a refreshing treat to help you beat the summer heat.
14. Orange Lemonade
This citrusy delight is totally invigorating. It’s almost like a mimosa, but there’s no alcohol (unless you want some). The oranges and lemons pair well together. Once you add a dash of ginger and mint, it’s even tastier. The flavor is complex and intricate, but you’ll certainly appreciate it.
15. Blackberry Lemonade
This four-ingredient, 10-minute drink is another recipe to which you’ll want to add vodka. It’s sweet and tangy, perfectly blending the flavors of blackberry and lemon. It has a lovely fuschia color that almost looks artificial. However, it uses nothing but fresh, natural ingredients.
16. Homemade Kiwi Lemonade
Want something a little bit different that doesn’t take much time? Try this homemade kiwi lemonade. It takes just 5 minutes to whip up and uses only four ingredients: kiwis, lemon juice, sugar, and water. Serve it over ice for the most refreshing drink possible. It’s a tart, tangy, and slightly tropical treat.
17. Lemon Thyme Lemonade
Thyme is such a versatile herb. You can use it in savory dishes, desserts, or – believe it or not – even drinks! This lemon and thyme lemonade is a wonderfully refreshing drink for summer. The combination of lemon and thyme gives the drink a slightly herbal flavor. That may seem strange, but it’s really delicious. Plus, it’s super easy to make! All you’ll need are lemons, thyme, sugar, water, and mint. It doesn’t get much more yummy and palate-cleansing than that.
18. Mint Lemonade
Do you go nuts for mojitos? I know I do. So trust me when I tell you that mint lemonade is every mojito lover’s dream. It’s alcohol-free, but the taste is spot-on. It’s tart, sweet, fresh, and so clean. I know that’s a strange description for a drink, but the taste is just that: clean. Luckily, you won’t have to hide this one from the kiddos. They can safely partake in it, as well. (And they’ll want to because it’s phenomenal.)
19. Cucumber Lemonade
Cucumber lemonade combines a summer day with a spa day. It’s easy to make and will quickly quench your thirst. It’s refreshing and crisp, not overly sweet, and has an incredible taste. There’s nothing else quite like it on this list. So give it a try if you’re looking for something new and different.
20. Ginger Lemonade
This exotic, tangy, and spiced drink is as nutritious as it is delicious. It combines lemons, honey, and ginger and is almost medicinal – though it tastes too good to be entirely therapeutic. Still, ginger lemonade might be the remedy if you’re suffering from a summer cold. Serve it over ice by the pool, or make a warm version for cool nights.
