Seafood has a simple salty and briny flavor profile, which means you’re free to go crazy with these easy desserts! Want something extra-rich and decadent? Why not? Want to keep it light and simple? Go right ahead. If you’re having trouble deciding, don’t worry, that’s what I’m here for. From pies to cake to ice cream, these sweet treats will complement and contrast seafood beautifully.  Looking for a wonderful way to cap off your seafood meal? Pick any of these desserts and you’re golden.

1. Fruit Kebabs

Fruits are not the most exciting dessert, especially for kids. You know what will make them a thousand times more fun to eat? Thread them onto skewers!  These fruit kebabs are a medley of colors and flavors – grapes, melon, berries, pineapple, star fruit, and more.  Serve these kebabs after a scrumptious crispy beer-battered fish for a perfect weekend meal.

2. Heaven on Earth Cake

Whoever coined this dessert is 100% on point. Angel food cake plus custard plus cherry pie filling plus whipped cream really do equate to heaven on earth! This blissful treat has lovely combinations of sweet and tangy, light and creamy. It’s absolutely to die for!

3. Bananas Foster

Bananas may not scream decadence, but this dessert does. Bananas are caramelized in brown sugar and butter and made even better with rum. Serve this with ice cream for the most scrumptious dessert! Bananas foster is the perfect palate cleanser for briny shellfish.

4. Lemon Cheesecake

Apart from the luscious and velvety lemon cream cheese custard, this cheesecake also has a buttery almond-flavored crust. The nuttiness of the almond and the tang from the cheesecake create such a beautiful balance of flavors. Lemon serves as a wonderful flavor contrast to clams, oysters, and other shellfish, so this dessert pairs beautifully with those.

5. Orange Upside Down Cake

Orange upside-down cake is a dense yet moist cake with sinful caramel and candied oranges on top. The oranges do a really fine job in adding a citrus contrast to the rich cake. The best part is that this cake is a breeze to make. It looks amazing as it is, so there’s no need to worry about decorating it.

6. Lemon Pudding Cake

Here’s another lemon-flavored treat that will cut through the pungent flavors of any seafood dish. Lemon pudding cake is a light and refreshing dessert. This dessert is lemon cake at the bottom and lemon pudding on top. These two amazing tastes and textures create a stunning dessert when combined.

7. Strawberry Shortcake

This strawberry shortcake is a shortcut version of the well-loved classic. Just because it’s quick and easy doesn’t mean it isn’t delicious! The dessert comprises flaky and buttery biscuits with fresh strawberries and whipped cream in between. The light and delicate filling is a wonderful contrast to the dense biscuits.

8. Jello Salad

This Jello salad is a simple dessert that only takes 5 minutes to make. Don’t be fooled, though, because there’s nothing basic about this treat! Also called heavenly delight, this dessert is made by combining powdered Jello, Cool Whip, cottage cheese, strawberries, and bananas. So yes, it’s a heavenly delight, indeed!

9. Lemon Pie

Lemon cream pie is a zesty summer dessert made of a crumbly crust and a tangy lemon filling with fluffy whipped cream on top. Just like a ray of sunshine, this pie is bright and beautiful. It’s also perfect after a super-rich salmon or tuna entree. A slice of pie will cleanse your palate right up!

10. Chocolate Chip Cookies

This next entry does not really require any explanation. I mean, who can say no to a classic chocolate chip cookie? It’s super soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate chips.  What makes these cookies extra special? Brown sugar. Unlike the usual granulated sugar, brown sugar contains molasses, which gives cookies and other desserts an even deeper, richer flavor. Cookies are a perfect dessert for any dish, if you ask me. But, they do pair particularly well with milder seafood, such as shrimps and scallops.

11. Key Lime Cheesecake Parfaits

A Key lime cheesecake parfait is the dessert you need if you can’t decide on just one. A combination of not just two but three desserts, this confection sure hits all the right notes. With layers of graham cracker crumbs, lime cheesecake filling, and whipped cream, it’s sweet, creamy, tart, tangy, and buttery all at once.

12. Raspberry Sorbet

Raspberry sorbet is a sweet frozen treat that’s so easy to make, you get to enjoy it in just 30 minutes. All you’ll need are raspberries, sugar, lime juice, and vanilla! Any seafood dish will be lucky to have this refreshing treat for dessert.

13. Orange Crush Pound Cake

A classic pound cake, but with soda? I’m listening. Orange Crush pound cake is just like any other pound cake – dense, moist, tender, and delicious. But in this recipe, you’ll use Orange Crush to give it a unique twist! Apart from the lovely orange taste, the soda turns the cake orange, too. It’s fun and full of flavor!

14. Lime Bars

These lime bars are sweet, tart, and addictive. They only call for 5 ingredients, too! It’s seriously the easiest recipe for lime bars, and the result is surprisingly delicious. This bright and refreshing dessert is perfect after an umami meal of buttered shrimp or lobster. The lemon will cut through the richness of the butter, giving your taste buds the sweet ending they need.

15. Citrus and Pomegranate Fruit Salad

Pomegranate, grapefruits, and oranges in one bowl? This is the citrus medley you didn’t know you needed. If you’re having a particularly rich dish, such as parmesan-crusted salmon, for dinner, you’ll need something light and refreshing for dessert.  This one is exactly that. It’s a wonderful way to end your meal without the guilt.

16. Key Lime Cake

This key lime cake is bursting with bright and citrus flavors! There’s key lime in both the cake and the glaze.  Apart from flavor, this cake’s texture also deserves a special mention. It’s ridiculously moist because instead of butter, you’ll use oil. Thanks for the tip, Miss Yearwood.

17. Lemon Sour Cream Cake

Lemons and sour cream ensure a ridiculously moist cake that’s also packed with flavor.  The sweet-tart cake and sinful lemon glaze give this cake a wonderful balance of flavors. It’s perfect for those who don’t enjoy overwhelmingly sweet desserts.  Click on a star to rate it!
