They’re boozy, beautiful, and effortlessly delicious. We just had the first snow of the season, which means it’s officially time for warm sweaters and open fires. But why not warm yourself from the inside out with one of these tasty fall tequila cocktails? Between the spiced margaritas, tequila sours, and even a warm, boozy coffee, you’ll crave these drinks night after night. And if you’re not a fan of that nasty tequila burn, just remember: with the right brand, tequila is as smooth as silk!

17 Easy Tequila Cocktails for Fall

1. Spicy Blood Orange Margarita

Blood oranges have a distinct and deep color that’s perfect for fall parties. Better yet, it infuses this delicious margarita with beautiful citrus flavor. The sweet and citrusy blood orange pairs perfectly with a little kick of jalapeño. Sweeten it up with a touch of simple syrup, and you’ve got one gorgeous cocktail. Rim the glass with cinnamon sugar or tajin for an extra special finish.

2. Fall Apple Cider Margarita

Nothing says “fall” quite like apple cider. But it’s time to take that cider to new tasty heights with a hint of tequila. This recipe features your go-to brand of traditional apple cider mixed with classic margarita flavors. That means lime, tequila, and grand mariner – plus a little brown sugar for good measure. For a perfect presentation, rim the glass with cinnamon sugar and serve with a cinnamon stick, an apple slice, and a sprig of rosemary!

3. Smoky Harvest Apple Cider Margarita

If a traditional margarita isn’t hitting the spot this fall, this cocktail should do the trick! It has so many great fall flavors in one cold glass, including silver tequila, orange liquor, apple cider, and maple syrup. As for the smokey notes? That comes from the cinnamon stick garnish. Of course, if you want to make this an even smokier cocktail, go for mezcal instead of tequila!

4. Mexican Mule

I know I say this a lot, but this is one of my all-time faves! A fun twist on the classic Moscow Mule, it’s just as sweet, fresh, and bubbly. But instead of vodka, you’ll use tequila along with the usual lime juice and ginger beer.  It’s super simple but super delish. And the copper mugs are about as picture-perfect as it gets.

5. The Chill of the Night

The name of this cocktail says it all: when the chill of the night finds you, warm up with a glass of this delicious drink. With herbal and botanical ingredients, the flavors in this cocktail are unparalleled.  Unfortunately, it does contain a few unusual bottles that you may not (and probably don’t) have on hand. So you’ll need to make a trip to the liquor store if you want to give this a try. Luckily, the flavors of spiced honey, tequila, and bitters are well worth the effort.

6. Lights Out Punch

As the name suggests, it’ll be lights out after a couple of these deeply flavorful fall tequila cocktails. It all starts with tea-infused vermouth, which is super delicious on its own. To that, you’ll add tequila, apple juice, citrus, bitters, and sparkling water. There’s a quick brown sugar syrup to help sweeten everything and bring some balance. And if you have the time, I highly recommend making the ice with apple slices and cinnamon sticks. They look terrific in the glass.

7. Cinnamon Grapefruit Tequila Sour

If margaritas aren’t your thing, perhaps a tequila sour is? This version calls for cinnamon and grapefruit, so it’s not as lip-puckering as the usual lemon drink. Don’t leave out the egg white in this recipe. It adds no flavor but so much incredible texture to the drink. And it’s not a real sour without the signature foam on top! This drink is citrus, spice, and everything nice! So get ready to make a bunch because everyone will want seconds.

8. Aperol Paloma Cocktail

There’s nothing dull about this zesty cocktail. It has a slight tartness, a little sweetness, and so much to love! Aperol bitters and orange liqueur give you plenty of zippy flavors to balance the sweet and sour grapefruit juice. Meanwhile, the tequila and lime are just what you need to make it the best Paloma you’ve ever had. Add some tajin to the mix if you like drinks with a kick. The spice works surprisingly well in a tart cocktail like this.

9. Añejo Old Fashioned

A typical old fashioned is made with bourbon or whiskey, but this is one delicious twist. With tequila at the center stage, it’s just as sweet and smoky with hints of fruit and toasty goodness. Start by muddling orange peel, bitters, and agave nectar. Then add the añejo tequila and ice to finish it off.  Garnish with a twist of orange peel and a brandied cherry. It’s beautiful, simple, and full of flavor!

10. El Diablo Cocktail

The name certainly adds a dramatic flare to this cocktail. But its gorgeous color and sweet taste are more heavenly than devilish. If you enjoy fruity cocktails, this is the drink for you. Featuring blackberry, ginger, and lime with tequila, it’s spiced, boozy, and perfectly sweet.  But what about the name? Well, initially, this drink was served with the crème de cassis floating on top. As it sank, it looked like blood, and the drink would eventually take on a deep, blood-red hue. That’s how I serve it! But you can skip that step and shake everything together.

11. Añejo Tequila Hot Toddy

When the first snow hits, there’s nothing like a hot toddy by the fire. And when you make it with a shot of añejo tequila, it’s even better! Add some tequila, orange liqueur, lemon, hot water, and spices to a mug with cloves and cinnamon, and you’re all set. Garnish your drink with an orange rind to finish out the citrus flavor. Yum!

12. Cinnamon Tequila Sour

What do you call the perfect drink for fall festivities? This super simple cinnamon tequila sour, of course! Put the egg white, simple syrup, tequila, cinnamon, and lemon in a cocktail shaker and let it rip for 20-30 seconds. When you remove the lid, it’ll be insanely frothy, and every sip will be rich with cinnamon sweetness.

13. Mexican Coffee

Forget the usual Irish and warm up this fall with a stunning Mexican coffee. Between the robust hot coffee, Kahlua, tequila, Cointreau, and cinnamon, it’ll warm you up from the inside out after just one sip! If you love citrusy drinks and coffee cocktails, I think you’ll really enjoy this one. Just don’t leave the cream out! It’s literally the icing on the cake and helps to balance out the strong flavors in the glass.

14. Honey Pear Margarita

I don’t know about you, but just the sound of a honey pear margarita has me drooling!  Pear is an often underused fruit, especially in fall. But this drink makes the best fall cocktail for any gathering or just a weekend at home! There’s rosemary for herbal balance and cinnamon for that sweet and spiced flavor we all love. Swirl in pear juice, triple sec, and tequila, and enjoy!

15. Cranberry Margarita With Apple-Cinnamon Tequila

Give your family a gift this Thanksgiving and serve these stunning spiced cranberry margaritas. Full disclosure: this is no ordinary cocktail, and it takes a bit of forethought to execute (a week, to be precise). You’ll need to store apple slices and cinnamon in tequila for an infusion of fall flavor. Five to seven days should be long enough. Combine that with cranberry juice and triple sec and shake well. Then, strain it into chilled glasses and garnish it with fresh apple slices.

16. Tequila Christmas Sunrise with Homemade Grenadine

I know this isn’t as vibrant as the OG tequila sunrise, but the flavors more than makeup for the lack of color. You’ll make grenadine with pomegranate juice and sugar. Simmer it until the sugar dissolves, then add lemon juice. Once that’s cold, you’ll shake some orange juice with tequila and pour it over ice. Then, carefully pour the grenadine over the top. How easy is that?

17. Pumpkin Spice Margaritas

No list of fall drinks would be complete without pumpkin. And since pumpkin spice is the king of autumn and margarita is the queen of tequila drinks, it only makes sense to marry the pair, right? You’ll start with the simple syrup that’s not so simple. It’s a fabulous blend of brown sugar, water, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and ginger. But that’s not all! These babies feature real pumpkin puree, so every sip is like a spiced, tequila-infused piece of pie. Click on a star to rate it!
