Dinners with spinach and pasta are always a hit in my house. There are so many different ways to combine them. Plus, even the kids love it because it’s something different. (And because it sometimes has a fun and funky green color!) Best of all, spinach is packed with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. That way, you know they’re getting something good for them. So what are you waiting for? Let’s check out 15 of my favorite spinach pasta recipes.
1. Creamy Tomato and Spinach Pasta
Okay, so this one didn’t have the ‘fun and funky green color’ I promised. But what it lacks in exciting color, it makes up for in great taste. Each bite features tender, chewy pasta in a creamy tomato sauce. It’s also cheesy, herb-flavored, and full of nutrient-rich spinach. Best of all, it takes less time to make than most boxed meals! You can have it on the table in just 25 minutes.
2. Pasta With Spinach Sauce
Here’s another creamy, spinach-packed penne pasta recipe. (I use penne, but you can use whatever pasta you like best.) It’s a simple recipe requiring fewer than 10 ingredients. Even so, it’s incredible. You won’t believe how much you’ll love the creamy spinach sauce.
3. Za’atar Garlic Spinach Pasta
This colorful pasta tastes as light and bright as it looks. It features the rich, earthy flavors of garlic and spinach. However, the parmesan, lemon juice, and lemon zest provide tons of zesty yumminess. You have to love those 30-minute meals that look (and taste) like gourmet cuisine.
4. Homemade Spinach Pasta
Some of you might have come here for a recipe for actual spinach pasta. (i.e., pasta made from spinach). This green pasta is flavorful and so much fun to eat. It’s not that challenging to make, either, as long as you have the right tools. Straightforward as it is, it’s not a quick recipe. It takes over an hour to make enough for two servings, and most people want more. So be sure to budget your time accordingly.
5. Spinach Lasagna
Need a hearty, healthy alternative to traditional lasagna? This recipe is perfect. It has layers of gooey cheese, tomatoey marinara, spinach, and noodles. It’s just as filling as any meaty lasagna but has far fewer calories and less fat. Plus, it won’t knock your vegetarian friends out of dining with you.
6. Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Shells
Stuffed shells are another vegetarian-friendly Italian option. They’re cheesy and full of fresh and fragrant ingredients. You can pull these together in less than an hour. They’ll make your house smell amazing while they’re cooking, too.
7. Baked Ziti With Spinach
Chewy pasta. Creamy cheese. Zesty marinara sauce. That’s what you’ll get with this baked ziti. It’s a simple, easy-to-follow recipe with only seven ingredients. (Plus salt and pepper.) Even though the ziti is a relatively healthy, meat-free dish, the kids will love it. Just don’t tell them how good it is for them. They might stop eating it out of sheer contrariness.
8. Homemade Spinach Fettuccine
Here’s some more of that groovy green pasta I promised you! This stuff looks like something Dr. Seuss should write about, but it’s so good. Plus, you need only three ingredients! You can make it from scratch in about an hour. Then, use it in any recipe that calls for fettuccine. It makes a killer fettuccine Alfredo. Seriously. Just thinking about it is making my knees weak.
9. Italian Orzo Spinach Soup
This gorgeous soup looks like Christmas in a bowl. It has a warm, rich flavor that’s perfect for the holidays, too. You fill it with veggies, garlic, and other flavorful seasonings. It has a bright, earthy taste and is as filling as it is comforting. Serve it with Texas toast or thick, dark bread. It’s sure to be a hit.
10. Spinach Pasta Salad
Bow tie pasta is so much fun! I love recipes that include it. However, this one is one of my favorites, and not just because it uses bow tie pasta. Nothing beats a cool, refreshing pasta salad in the summer! This one blows the boxed mix out of the water. It’s garlicky and peppery but still light and zesty. You’ll love the fresh, juicy grape tomatoes and the leafy spinach. It’s the perfect side item for a summer BBQ. You could also enjoy it alone as a light lunch.
11. Creamy Cheese Ravioli and Spinach
You haven’t had ravioli until you’ve had this ravioli. It’s beyond good. It’s the kind of dish you make when you want something truly indulgent. The creamy, luscious cheese sauce is unbelievable. Seriously, it’s one of the best things you’ll ever taste. You’ll want to lick every last drop from your plate. I could sit and eat the entire bowl of sauce by itself. And if I had buttery garlic bread to dip into it, that’d be a bonus. Fortunately, the tender, cheese-filled ravioli is just as good as the sauce. Everything about this dish is perfect. Try it once, and you’ll understand how indescribably tasty it is.
12. Creamy Spinach and Mushroom Pasta Bake
Spinach and mushrooms were made to be together. I think they’re an epic combo to rival even PB&J. If you don’t believe me, try this pasta bake. You’ll change your mind! It’s creamy, hearty, and full of earthy, bold flavors. If you like spinach, garlic, mushrooms, and cheese, you’ll love it.
13. Chicken and Spinach Pasta
Unfortunately, some people aren’t mushroom lovers. In that case, you might prefer the chicken and spinach pasta bake. It has a similar flavor profile; only it uses chicken instead of mushrooms. The result is a lighter, though slightly drier meal. They’re both scrumptious, though.
14. Baked Feta Pasta With Spinach
Want pasta with a bit of zing? You can’t go wrong with baked feta pasta. Feta cheese adds a unique, tangy flavor to any dish. In this one, though, it takes center stage. There are only seven ingredients in the whole recipe. Of those, feta is the boldest, so that’s what you’ll taste the most. The juicy cherry tomatoes add their own bright flavor. In short, this is one mouth-wateringly tasty pasta dish.
15. Buttery Spinach Angel Hair Pasta
Are you a buttered noodles fan? Then you’ll love this recipe. It’s basically buttered noodles with a lemon and spinach kick. It’s a vibrant, light meal with notes of garlic, spinach, and pepper. It’s a fantastic choice for summer lunches or light dinners. Click on a star to rate it!
