If you don’t often cook with beef broth, you may wonder why you should. That’s an easy one! Beef broth makes sauces saucier and soups more deliciously sippable.  Of course, chicken broth does that, too. However, beef broth gives things a bolder, more savory flavor. Chicken broth is lighter and more understated.  If you want to really taste the broth you’re using, beef broth is the better option. It’s a no-brainer! Is flavor what you’re after? Then you have to give these recipes with beef broth a try!

1. Beef Broth Pasta with Onion and Parmesan

This tender, saucy pasta is sure to be a new favorite once you try it. It’s incredibly good. You’ll add the beef broth slowly, and it infuses every bite of pasta with its flavor. It’s a warm, savory dinner option that’s quick enough to make for lunch, too. From start to finish, it takes just 20 minutes to prepare. However, the robust flavor tastes like it’s been cooking for hours.  It’s a simple, meat-free meal (aside from the broth). You’ll need just seven ingredients to make it. Be sure to load it down with parmesan when it’s ready. Doing so makes it even tastier.

2. Old-Fashioned Vegetable Beef Soup (Easy Recipe)

This hearty, heart-warming meal is a dream come true on cold winter nights. It’s old-school, down-home, country grub – real ‘stick to your ribs’ food. It’s absolutely packed with veggies. There are also thick, succulent chunks of stew meat. The beef broth pairs well with the tomatoey base, making it good to the last drop. It’s also perfect for sopping with crumbly cornbread. Of course, the best thing about it is how easy it is to make. It takes about 10 minutes of prep work.  After that, you can leave it to cook in the slow cooker by itself.

3. French Onion Soup

I know we all have our own specific tastes. We all like and dislike different things, and usually, I’m 100% okay with that.  However, I genuinely cannot understand people who don’t like French onion soup. They are a mystery to me.  I mean, how can you not love it? It’s like one big bowl of caramelized onions with cheesy bread! What about that can anyone turn down?  If you are one of those people who don’t like it, don’t worry. I’ll happily eat enough for both of us. 🙂

4. Pho

Pho is a brothy, noodly, chunky, soupy delight. You’ll make it with so many yummy spices.  There’s cinnamon, star anise, ginger, cloves, and more. (That should tell you everything you need to know about pho.) Can’t you smell it already?  All of those spices, plus steak, onions, and noodles. It’s a fresh, flavorful meal the whole family will love. It takes a little time to prepare. However, you can make the steak and noodles ahead of time. That’ll help reduce the hands-on work when you’re ready to make it. You can also store leftovers for up to three days. (And they taste just as fresh and scrumptious as on day one.)

5. Italian Meatball Soup

This dish has everything you love about Italian food in soup form. There are thick, juicy meatballs and plenty of garlic and Italian seasoning.  You’ll also add plenty of veggies – celery, onions, carrots, beans, and more. It has a rich, tomatoey base and lots of parmesan cheese.  It tastes a bit like spaghetti, actually. However, it has far fewer carbs and is entirely noodle-free.

6. Borscht

I adore the bright pinkish-red color of borscht. It’s one of the most beautiful soups you’ll ever try. Fortunately, it tastes pretty good, too, assuming you like beets. It’s a very beet-forward dish, though there’s meat and other veggies, too. It’s a hearty, nutritious meal that’ll keep you full for hours.  Seriously, though, you must enjoy beets to appreciate it. They are definitely front and center in the soup’s flavor.

7. Beef Noodle Soup

Homemade chicken noodle soup is always a treat. However, beef noodle soup knocks it out of the park when it comes to flavor.  It features the same tender noodles and hearty veggies as a chicken noodle soup. You’ll even add the same seasonings (rosemary, thyme, garlic, etc.).  The beef chunks and broth give it a much bolder flavor. The broth is thicker and saltier, and the soup is more filling overall.  If you want something sure to warm your belly, beef noodle soup is it. Plus, you’ll cook it slowly over low heat. Doing so gives the flavors time to sink in.

8. Beef Broth Brown Gravy

There’s nothing better on top of mashed potatoes than brown gravy. It tastes fantastic on cuts of meat and turkey, too.  Unfortunately, making it from the powdered mix isn’t always a great idea. This year, make it from scratch with beef broth instead.  You’ll need fewer than ten ingredients and just 15 minutes. The result is a thick, savory sauce with a phenomenal taste. It’s so good that you’ll want to lick the bowl after making it.  Try it once, and you’ll never use the store-bought stuff again.

9. Seafood Gumbo

Do you love Creole and Cajun flavors? If so, then this recipe for seafood gumbo is sure to please. It combines thick slices of Andouille sausage, crabmeat, and shrimp.  You’ll also add a half dozen or more spices and seasonings to the mix. Every bite is like a flavor explosion on your tongue. Plus, it’s incredibly hearty and will keep you full all night long. With this recipe, you don’t have to be in NOLA to get good gumbo.

10. Savory Beef Broth and Vodka Bull Shot

This last item on the list is a bit different from the others. Forget lunch or dinner for this one. Instead, you’ll use beef broth to make a cocktail.  Yep. A cocktail. The beef broth and vodka bull shot is a savory, spicy drink perfect for brunch. It’s like a Bloody Mary without the tomato juice. (You’ll still keep the Tabasco and Worcestershire, though.) It’s an acquired taste, but it’s not bad. Give it a try one day; it might surprise you. Click on a star to rate it!
